Last Thoughts Before Vanishing
Dear esteemed followers and readers this will sadly be my last post on this blog as my Social Media course is coming to an end. I've had a very pleasant experience with this course and came to enjoy the little bits of time everyday that I was able to revel in the digital and social world. I must say my favorite experience in this class was in my business unit in which I talked about BU, though this must have seemed obvious from the amount of enthusiasm I had when writing that blog post! The unit was very engaging and I really had a blast learning about Boston University in such detail. This course really opened my eyes to the whole spectrum of social media not just the basic tools such as Facebook and Twitter. I also really enjoyed the "Trending" unit 6, as this was the first time I had heard of Storify. This was a great experience and I had a lot of fun using this tool and hope to use it again in the future. The LinkedIn unit was especially useful for me as I was able to finally find the motivation to update my LinkedIn profile, a very powerful tool that'll become crucial in my upcoming endeavors. I thought this course and syllabus was well designed and proved to be a good course for a high school student to take.

9 Things Teenagers Can Teach You About Instagram
I've known about Instagram for quite some time, but after reading a article on the Huffington Post I was once again taken aback by the beauty of Instagram; view the article here. The interesting facts listed on this article really struck my interest. Later after I created my own Instagram I was able to experience it for myself. My experience with Instagram was actually quite pleasant, I found an enjoyment in taking pictures that I did not initially expect. The array of filters and picture editing tools also proved to be quite the time killer and added an artistic quality to my pictures that gave off a faux professional vibe. Instagram would be a great tool for someone who wanted to create a digital portfolio, with a pleasant interface and a huge user base, it is most definitely lucrative for any potential marketer. Though I have no interest in using Instagram to further supplement my digital footprint, I would definitely recommend it to others. I also enjoyed being able to search for our classes # and view all the other posts made by my peers. It made sharing content very easy. I also found another article with some interesting facts about Instagram, click here to view it! You can also view my Instagram- @dshs_shakya. View some of my Instagram posts below!

Looking back on this unit!
In this unit we were able to truly see how social media was used at a political level- truly speaking for the vast effect social media has had on society. Using resources available to the public such as Instagram, twitter, and Facebook politicians were able to boost their cam paining efficiency and even in some cases these tools become a critical factor in their success or... failure (check out this link to social media failures). If you're interested in more information concerning Obama, check out these links 1,2, & 3.
