Post Three: Quote Hunting

“Assume whatever you do, both offline and online, will be seen by your mother, dad, boss, coach, boyfriend, teacher… the world.” ― Erik Qualman, What Happens in Vegas Stays on YouTube

This quote really gets down to the core of the issues that seem to be spreading like wild fire among both students and adults in this social media revolving life many live. With the prominence of social media, everyone from your mother to your college admissions and future job interviewer will be looking at what you have posted on the world wide web, your digital profile truly speaks for who you are. In my case I do not quite use social media to such a level, and if I ever do my content is very much related to my technology interests-nothing that would beg question as to what that was. Before posting anything to the internet run through the list from the above quote, if for any reason any one person would find themselves uncomfortable after seeing what you posted, better just leave it off the web. While it's important to make sure your digital profile isn't "bad", it's just as crucial to give off a good "vibe". Use common sense to understand what seems like a + point apposed to supposed that would give you - points. So far we've discussed how to respect yourself on the internet, remember this also applies to everyone else, make sure you respect your peers on the internet. How you treat and interact them is a direct reflection on who you are. Click here to view an informational site on up keeping your digital personality.
